What they offer
The Portman Early Childhood Centre is unique in that it provides a range of services including education, care and specialist family support services within an integrated nursery centre. Many of the Sure Start Church Street activities also take place here.
They provide day care and nursery education for children under 5 (for more details, see entry under nurseries and schools); Community drop -in groups (for more details, see entry in Parental and Family Support and Drop -ins) and parent and community education. It is staffed by teachers, early years educators and family support workers. The Sure Start Church Street outreach team are also based here.

What they offer
A multi disciplinary team of family support workers who can offer practical and emotional support to you and your family on a range of parenting issues. This may include concerns about your child's behaviour or development or if you are experiencing difficulties in the parenting of your child. They offer assessments and interventions that aim to build on your own strengths and parenting skills.
The majority of the work is undertaken on a sessional or day basis at the centre or at your home.
There are also community groups whereby you can drop in for support, meet other parents and give your children the opportunity and space to play and socialise with others.
Who is it for
Families and children up to age 11.

What they offer
A voluntary organisation whereby volunteers offer support, friendship and practical help to families who may be experiencing difficulties. A volunteer is matched with your family and visits you for a minimum of 2 hours per week. Visiting times are flexible and according to your family needs. All volunteers undergo training and have had parenting experience themselves.

What they offer
A support network for parent/carers who are feeling isolated and/or finding it difficult adjusting to the changes that parenthood brings. They offer workshops and groups on parent/child relationships, opportunities for creative play with your children and a personal development programme to enable you to make changes in your lives.
One O'clock Club - a One O'clock Club for parents and carers of children under 5 is held every Wednesday afternoon 13.00-15.00 (term time only) at NEWPIN. Fun and play activities and coffee and tea are available. Everyone welcome.
Gym Jives Music and Movement - for parents and carers of children age 1 - 4 years, every Thursday afternoon 13.00-14.00. 20 places per session. Please telephone for further information.

Parents/main carers with at least 1 child under 5 years old.

What they offer
A multi-disciplinary team of family and other therapists, social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists provide a variety of therapeutic services for families, children, adolescents and adults. They can offer help for a range of difficulties facing you or your children including behavioural difficulties at home or school, adjustment to loss or trauma or drug misuse. They also offer support, mainly psychotherapy, to adults with a range of problems.
The team also provide assessments, training, teaching and outreach work.
Who is it for
Children age 0-18 years living in North and South Paddington and North East Westminster and their families. Adults living in North East Westminster.
